WHY ROMANIA

An EU medical degree with no entrance exam.

In India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, medical seats are brutally competitive, and private seats can cost more than a Romanian degree.

Romania has 13 universities teaching medicine. Programmes run six years: foundation sciences first, clinical years later.

WHAT IT COSTS

Lower fees, and the questions to ask first.

ItemTypical cost
Tuition, English-medium medicine€4,000–8,000 a year, depending on university
Living costs€300–650 a month
EU statusEU member since 2007; full Schengen member since 2025

All in: About €8,000–15,000 a year all in, depending on the university and city. Check the specific university’s fee schedule for all six years. The visa asks for proof of at least the Romanian minimum net wage for each month.

THE HONEST PART

Settle the licensing question before anything else.

  • Recognition depends on your home country. Rules on course length, internship and licensing exams differ for India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Check the specific university.
  • English-medium places are limited. Institution choice matters, and Romanian is needed for clinical years.

Romania suits you if

  • Your child wants medicine without an entrance exam
  • You want an EU degree at lower cost
  • You will do the recognition homework first

Look elsewhere if

  • You have not checked licensing at home
  • You want a large campus experience in English throughout

Coaching and guidance only, not legal advice. Not an immigration lawyer or agent. Every pathway goes through the official channel of the destination country.
