WHY IRELAND

Familiar culture, English everywhere and strong post-study options.

Grading, calendar and teaching style map closely onto what families from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh expect.

Dublin has a large and growing tech sector.

WHERE TO STUDY

  • Dublin UCD, Trinity, DCU. Strongest tech and finance presence.
  • Cork, Galway, Limerick Lower living costs than Dublin.

WHAT IT COSTS

The premium is real, especially in Dublin.

ItemTypical cost
Tuition, undergraduate, non-EU€9,850–25,500 a year
Tuition, postgraduate, non-EU€9,950–34,500 a year
MedicineUp to €39,500–55,000 a year
Proof of funds for the visa€10,000 in the student’s access
Stay back after graduating12 months (bachelor), 24 months (master)

All in: Expect roughly €20,000–35,000 for a full year, tuition included. Dublin rents push most students to the top of that range; Cork, Galway and Limerick are cheaper.

THE HONEST PART

Plan housing early.

  • Dublin rents have risen sharply. Student housing lags demand, so apply early for university accommodation.
  • Post-study length depends on the degree. Master’s graduates get the longer stay-back period. Check what applies to your course.

Ireland suits you if

  • English everywhere is the top priority
  • You want a familiar academic culture
  • Your child is heading for tech, pharma or finance

Look elsewhere if

  • Cost is the deciding factor
  • You cannot secure housing early
