The short version

A proud textile town where real Valencian life costs far less.

Ontinyent sits in a green valley at 382 metres, with an old quarter (La Vila) above the river and natural pools at the Pou Clar. Its Moors and Christians festival was declared of International Tourist Interest in 2024.

Rents are among the lowest of any town of its size in the region, and the University of Valencia has a campus here.

  • You like countryside, hiking and cooler nights
  • You can work remotely or locally

Look elsewhere if
