THE HONEST PART
Hear the trade-offs now, not in October of year one.
- Most medical faculties set an entrance exam. Biology and chemistry. Passable with preparation, but not a formality.
- Learn the Cyrillic alphabet before you land. A two-week effort. Clinical years involve Bulgarian patients.
- Verify recognition for where you will practise. Licensing rules belong to the country you want to work in.
Bulgaria suits you if
- Cost is the deciding constraint
- Your child will prepare for an exam and learn some Bulgarian
- You are practical about facilities
Look elsewhere if
- You want breadth beyond medicine (Poland)
- You want to avoid an exam entirely (Romania)
- You expect Western European facilities
