All in: Most non-EU students land between €20,000 and €30,000 for a full year, tuition included. A one-year master can cost less overall than a three-year degree elsewhere.
THE HONEST PART
Housing is the real admission test.
- Start looking the day you get an offer. Students arrive with a place and nowhere to live.
- Choose universities that guarantee first-year housing. And treat any listing that asks for a deposit before a viewing as fraud.
- Watch the language policy. The Netherlands is moving to reduce English-taught bachelor’s programmes. Confirm the language is committed for the full course.
Netherlands suits you if
- You want a globally recognised degree and can fund it properly
- You want to work in Europe afterwards
- Your child likes direct, discussion-based teaching
Look elsewhere if
- Budget is deciding (Poland or Hungary cost about a third)
- You cannot secure housing before arrival
