Cookie Policy

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Some are needed to make a site work. Others help the site owner understand how the site is used. Browsers also offer local storage, which works in a similar way. This page covers both. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
How we use them
When you first arrive, we set no cookies. A small notice asks for your choice. Google Analytics and the Metricool website tracker stay switched off until you select Accept all, or switch on Analytics under Manage preferences. If you select Reject non-essential, they stay off.
We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not sell your personal information.
What is stored on your device
This is everything the site can store in your browser. Items marked as analytics appear only if you accept analytics.
| Name | Set by | What it does | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| nle_consent_v1 | New Life Europe | Remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page. | Essential (browser storage, not a cookie) | Until you change it or clear your browser data |
| googtrans | New Life Europe, for Google Translate | Remembers the language you chose in the language picker. | Functional, only if you choose a language | Until you close your browser |
| nle_lang | New Life Europe | Remembers the language you chose. | Functional (browser storage) | Until you clear your browser data |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells one visitor from another so we can count visits. | Analytics, only with your consent | 2 years |
| _ga_VL6KSRYJWK | Google Analytics | Keeps track of a visit across pages. | Analytics, only with your consent | 2 years |
Metricool website tracker
If you accept analytics, we also load a website measurement tool from Metricool. It shows us which pages are viewed and which websites or social posts sent visitors, so we can see what our content does. In our own testing it did not set a cookie on this site. Metricool processes the data on its servers. If you switch analytics off, the tool is not loaded on your next page view.
Anonymous page counts
We also count how many pages are viewed each hour, together with the page address and the website the visitor came from. This uses no cookies and no browser storage, and we do not store your IP address or any identifier that could point to you. We keep these counts for 8 days and use them to keep the site running and to notice sudden surges in traffic.
Language picker and Google Translate
The language picker uses Google Translate. Google’s translation script loads only after you choose a language other than English. Google then receives the page text it translates and may set its own cookies. Google’s privacy policy explains how it handles that data.
Other services
Links to Calendly, WhatsApp, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram are ordinary links. Those sites only set cookies if you follow them.
Change or withdraw your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Select Cookie settings here or in the footer of any page, then switch Analytics on or off. If you switch it off, we remove the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you block the storage that remembers your choice, the notice may appear again on each visit.
Changes to this policy
If we change the cookies we use, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent again.
